The Sleeping Adult

A world stirs behind closed eyes
You lay sleeping…
While I am running
Naked through the trees
I fly through the skies
With eyes open wide
You lay sleeping…
The night, the moon, the stars
Are mine
Yet you dare only dream
A world beckons behind
Closed eyes
We walk in parallel dimensions
You and I
My hand reaches out
To yours
While you lay sleeping
Dreaming
Take my hand and walk with me
I will show you
Your spirit
I will show you
You can soar
For the wind is your mother ~
This is a poem & illustration created by myself. The poem is about the yearnings of the spirit within a person who basically spends most of their time sleeping because they are suffering with mental illness. However, I appreciate that it may hold different meanings for different people.

Hm, I thought it had a more light air to it but can see the double meaning in the words. I love the rhythm and rhyme over all and the overall feel.
